Beauty Bible Loves… MALIN + GOETZ pop-up (and Strawberry Bar!)

So, something super-fun, if you’re out beauty shopping in the West End. MALIN + GOETZ’s pop-up has been welcoming customers for a while now, at Quadrant Arcade (a newly renovated and beautiful historic arcade off Regent Street), showcasing all their skincare, scents and candles. But yesterday was our first visit, to check out its new incarnation in celebration of M+G’s Strawberry collection.

Strawberry, we hear you chorus? Isn’t that for six-year-olds? Well, no. No, no, noooooo. This scent is fresh. A little bit juicy, quite a lot ‘green’, with a mossy touch. There are some light floral notes in there, including jasmine, and the merest whisper of a really authentic strawberriness. It’s clean and crisp, really wearable – but if you don’t want to wear it (either as an eau de parfum or a perfume oil rollerball), you can burn the candle, instead.

Such a flattering pink light! (Wrinkles? What wrinkles!)

We’ll drink to that! No, honestly, we’ll drink to that… at the pop-up. Because upstairs, in a strawberry pink-themed bar (it’s gorgeous, and the pink light is SO flattering), you can enjoy a free, yes, FREE cocktail, created by the East London Liquor Company. Simply scan the QR code on the way in, and enter your e-mail address. Check your inbox for your voucher, show it to your server, and enjoy a drink on the house. (Just the one, mind.)

There are three cocktails on offer, two created with East London Kew Gin, and one – it was a weekday afternoon, what else were we going to go for? – is non-alcoholic. Called ‘Comforting’, it’s created with cucumber tonic, a fresh slice of bergamot and a jasmine bud garnish. So thirst-quenching and delicious! And – this is the super-fun bit – the glasses are actually reused candle containers, with the distinctive MALIN + GOETZ typography on them. (You can absolutely do this with your own candles, once they’ve flickered their last.)
