Beauty Bible Loves... Lush Elephant Jelly
Yes, today we are suggesting that you go out and buy – well, something that looks like grey slime. Grey slime… in a very good cause, though. Because, to celebrate World Kindness Day (which was actually 13th), Lush have launched a ‘jelly-phant’, with 75% of the sales price of this Elephant Jelly going to Working for the Wild.
This charity is working to restore and protect 52,000 acres in the Cameroon, helping to preserve a really important wildlife corridor for African forest elephants and other animals under threat, including chimpanzees, giant pangolins and leopards, which are found in the Cameroonian rainforest.
The product itself? First off, it’s ‘self-preserving’ – i.e. it doesn’t need synthetic preservatives, but stays perfectly fresh. A wibbly-wobbly body cleansing bar, with a rather lovely scent, designed to conjure up the jungle vibe with notes of bergamot and black pepper, patchouli and vetiver. Not your usual soapy texture, it’s enriched with carrageenan and vegan glycerine, to maintain skin’s hydration levels.
Kind to skin, then, as well as elephants. (And yes. Grey.)
