Lisa Taylor make-up/travel/yoga mat bags

If you’re looking for a last-minute gift, we would like to point you in the direction of Lisa Taylor. Sourcing vintage saris from India, the designer creates one-off pieces that are sometimes richly-embroidered, sometimes using kantha stitchwork, or pieces of embroidered/mirrored textiles – but always, always beautiful.

Her bags have gone down well with friends and family in previous years, and (look away now) there’ll be more Lisa Taylor treasures under the tree this year.

The bags pictured below, created from saris hand-picked by Lisa in Delhi, are emblazoned with slogans like ‘Peace’, ‘Hope’, ‘Love’ and are great either for make-up (though NB the lining’s not waterproof), or for travel items like chargers.

The very fresh-looking bags above, meanwhile – from her ‘Key to Freedom’ line – are perhaps even more special, with 50% of profits going back to the Key to Freedom charity, supporting a woman who has been rescued from poverty, whose name (and we love this) will be marked on the swing-tag of your bag.

The paisley comes in either blue or pink – we’re torn, frankly, loving both options of what is definitely a feel-good choice.

Last but not least? Do check out the amazing yoga mat carriers (below). Jo has one and is particularly taken with the way it can be slung across her back, with its long strap, for heading to the yoga studio.

Made with love, to be given with love. And yes, we love that.
