Kurami fruit and veg boxes
We know just how challenging it is at the moment to get fresh fruit and veg, especially in Central London. So when Kurami told us about their Fruit and Veg Box, we asked to put it to the test โ via a friend marooned in Holborn. (We really donโt like to write about stuff we havenโt tried.)
Aforementioned friendโs nearby street market has closed, and queues for nearby supermarkets have been as long as six hours. (And besides, a lot of people we know donโt want to go near a supermarket unless they can really help it, anyway.)
โThis is lovely,โ said our delighted recipient and โguinea pigโ, Catherine, after her delivery. โAll the produce is exceptionally fresh (which is not always the case with box deliveries. There is also a good mix of veg, fruit, herbs and cooking staples including chillis, fresh ginger and six beautiful eggs. Especially excited to find both kale and spinach in the box.โ
Kurami works with nutritionists, and at the core of what they do is an understanding of the importance of gut health. They offer one-off healthy eating boxes, or meal plans โ and itโs worth checking out everything on offer, but the Fruit and Veg boxes are answering a very real need in the capital, right now.
Subject to availability, Kurami promise two to three vegetable types, two to three root vegetables, three types of fruit, garlic and onion, three to four fresh herbs/chilli/ginger, and three to four citrus (lime, lemon). This will depend on seasonality, in some cases.
The boxes can be ordered by midday for delivery next day. Check availability here with your postcode.
Because we are what we eat. And thereโs an alternative to turning into a biscuit or a banana loaf.
