Beauty Bible Loves… Jurlique Intense Rose Hand Cream
Gosh. Golly. Wowzer. Did you know that Jurlique are celebrating FORTY YEARS of natural beauty?
Long before ‘clean beauty’ and ‘green beauty’ were even catchphrases, Jurlique were quietly and devotedly harvesting their own ingredients and formulating effective products, which slowly but surely became known and loved across the globe. (That makes us fairly early adopters and very long-term fans, with Jo having interviewed the founders for YOU magazine even before we started writing our books.)
To celebrate four decades of natural gorgeousness, then, they’ve brought out two limited editions: Jurlique Intense Rose Balancing Mist, and this beautiful Intense Rose Hand Cream, a supercharged formulation which includes safflower seed, sweet almond and macadamia nut oils, along with iris root, chamomile, marshmallow and carrot extracts (and of course, the rose that gives this its beautiful scent, which is grown in Jurlique’s own fields).
Jurlique hand creams have always pushed our buttons (and our Beauty Bible testers’, over the years). But this delivers super-softness from first slather – it is indeed ‘intense’, yet not in the least greasy. The smoothing effect, in fact, is instantaneous.
It's packaged in an almost ‘Beauty Bible pink’ tube – but here’s the rub. The tube is recyclable – but it qualifies as ‘hard to recycle’, which means you might need to look up your nearest recycling point (check out the British Beauty Council page here). Back in the day, Jurlique used aluminium for their tubes – and we can’t help wishing they’d go back to that, at a time when so many brands are following their early lead, and quitting plastic for (easily recyclable) aluminium.
Other than that little niggle? Everything’s rosy, with this celebratory cream.
