Beauty Bible Loves... Self-Glow by James Read Golden Days Milky Tan Toner
We are attempting to hang onto summer for as long as possible. Which means clinging on to a bit of healthy glow.
Enter James Read’s newest product for his Self-Glow collection, Golden Days Milky Tan Toner – a really innovative way to apply self-tan, in the form of a fine-mist toner that also adds a light but buildable golden-ness.
The light, milky formula blends tanning actives with our old buddy hyaluronic acid, for hydration, together with Centella Asiatica-derived PDRN (‘polydeoxyribonucleotide’, if you really want the science bit!) and soothing liquorice root extract, both of which are good for skin barrier function.
It literally could not be easier to use. ‘Piece of cake’ doesn’t even begin to describe it. You mist over face and neck after cleansing, even before you add serum or moisturiser. That’s an absolute first, for us – but we’ve a hunch that by using before skincare, it gets blended seamlessly when you massage that in. Nevertheless, best to mist evenly for a seamless result.
You can use Self-Glow by James Read Golden Days Milky Tan Toner regularly to deepen the colour – as we say, it’s buildable – or just every now and then for a whisper of warmth, as we’ve been doing. Just one thing to remember: this is very much a glow-getter, not sun protection, so make sure that if you use it by day, an SPF is one of the products you layer over the top.
This is such a great range, from just the loveliest man in the tanning biz. Self-Glow by James Read keeps winning awards – deservedly so – and it is earning an ever bigger slice of real estate on our bathroom shelves.
Where this will most definitely remain a fixture, even as we head deeper into autumn and winter.
