Beauty Bible Loves... Hair Proud Clean & Strong Pre-Cleanse Hair Mask
We are so chuffed at the proliferation of well-priced brands offering great quality skincare and haircare at not-stupid prices. Another of these is Skin Proud, who more recently added haircare to their line-up with the Hair Proud collection: stylishly designed, effective products that don’t require a second mortgage. The brands, FYI, were both launched by Charlotte Knight, founder of Lottie London and Ciaté London – so they come with a great pedigree.
We honestly used to struggle to find products to feature as our ‘Beauty Bible Weekend Steal, but no more.) All of their products, meanwhile, are PETA-certified cruelty-free and vegan, free from parabens and phthalates, SLS and SLES.
We road-tested this particular under-a-tenner product recently and will be using it regularly, moving forward. By this time of year, many of have developed central heating-related dryness and frizz – not to mention woolly hat hair – and this delivers an extra boost of moisture, for shiny, swingy hair. It also helps to tackle any product build-up.
To help you get your head around the concept of a ‘pre-cleanse mask’, Hair Proud Clean & Strong Pre-Wash Hair Mask is massaged into dry hair before shampooing, so it can slurp up the goodness from squalene, strengthening biotin, kakadu plum vitamin C and an amino acid complex. Leave for five to 10 minutes, then shampoo and rinse as usual. (We absolutely promise that you won’t simply wash its goodness down the sink.)
It's sometimes the overpowering scent of less-expensive haircare that puts us off, but not the case here: it’s a slightly tropical scent of coconut and ‘exotic botanicals’ (we’re hard-pushed to identify them!) – honestly, rather nice.
Another bonus: the packaging’s made with 30% post-consumer recycled material, and is 100% recyclable.
