Garden of Wisdom C-Deep Vitamin C Serum
You know youโre onto a winner when you start getting compliments on a product, right, left and centre.
Thatโs what happened after we started using this new vitamin C-powered serum from Victoria Healthโs own skincare line, Garden of Wisdom. (Affectionately known as โG.O.W.โ, and very well worth exploring for its powerful and effective mix-and-match products, at not-silly prices.)
Now, C-Deep is called a โserumโ but this is actually more akin to a facial oil โ so weโve been using it at night, on skin thatโs seen a bit more sun than it usually does in our ongoing quest to get plenty of vitamin D; there MIGHT have been a bit of collateral skin damage, as a result.
A couple of nights with this layered under night cream, and the difference was already obvious โ much, much brighter skin. By the end of a week, skin seemed evened out a bit (even though thatโs a bit sooner than weโd normally expect with any product).
Most vitamin C serums are based on L-Ascorbic Acid, which is water-soluble, and can be somewhat unstable. But in this case, the vitamin C derivative is Tetrahexyldecyl Ascorbate, which VH tell us โhas been modified to be soluble in oil or lipids and enters the skin faster and deeper than any other form of vitamin C.โ Which maybe explains those speedy results.
The power vitamin is suspended in squalane, which has a light oil texture โ and once youโve got your head around the fact it behaves like an oil, itโs nothing but a pleasure to use โ no discernible scent, but feels nourishing in its own right.
Regime-wise, itโs joined our skincare line-up โ definitely a keeper.
