FUL.VIC Fulvic Body Lotion

We were converted to the benefits of fulvic acid some time ago – as a supplement, originally. But it’s now been harnessed in quite a few beauty products, of which this is our new fave rave.

Let us start by saying: this body cream is taupe. Looks a bit like chestnut purée, but absolutely don’t let that put you off – because the colour of the cream reflects the high levels of fulvic acid in the wonderfully moisturising formula.

Don’t be scared of the word ‘acid’; it won’t burn your skin in the slightest – any more than our old chum hyaluronic acid does. Fulvic acid is actually a powerful antioxidant, good for even sensitive, acne-prone skins, and can actually help acne- and rosacea-prone skin. Used in China for centuries, it’s an up-and-coming, all-round wonder skincare ingredient around which our chums at Victoria Health – uberpharmacist Shabir Daya, at the request of his co-founder Gill Sinclair – have created a growing skincare line-up.

This is just what our bodies need, right now, with the central heating sapping the life out of our skin – and what the central heating isn’t vapourising is being ‘wicked’ by our clothes, which actually absorb moisture from the skin.

This minimally-packaged antidote is brilliantly skin-quenching and winter-proofing – lots of shea butter, olive oil, jojoba oil plus vitamin B5 (with the key ingredient, fulvic acid, gratifyingly high up the ingredients list), but sinks in very fast. None of that impatiently jumping around the bedroom, waiting for a body cream to dry before getting dressed (or into a nightie).

There are also two high-tech, ‘breakthrough’ ingredients: Synastol TC (from an edible fruit, helping to deliver super-hydration), plus HydroSynol DOI, a ‘plant derived smart lipophilic skin hydrator’, which is a slightly blinding-by-science way of saying it offers hydration for up to 48 hours, helping to strengthen the skin barrier.

Last but by no means least Fulvic Body Lotion is fragrant, with it – a sort of amber-y, cocooning, cashmere-y scent that wraps itself around you as it’s working its mega-moisturising magic.

FUL.VIC Fulvic Body Lotion? We’re full of love, basically.
