Beauty Bible Loves... Ffern Spring 26 Perfumer’s Candle
British fragrance house Ffern – who have a rather interesting business model – have launched candles, and we’re crazy for this Spring scent.
That business model? It’s a subscription, whereby you join Ffern’s ‘ledger’ – or are waitlisted for it. (In an ‘I-want-it-now’ world, there’s something so different about this!) There are, apparently, 500,000 names on this waiting list, but – if we believe what we’re told – Ffern pick names randomly from this list. (Having said that, everyone we know who has tried to sign up seems to have been successful…) If you are the impatient type, you can also buy the fragrances and candles (and past seasonal ‘ledger’ editions) in store at their boutique at 23 Beak Street, London W1F 9RS.
When you receive the fragrances, they come with a mini-spray and a blotter and you can spritz before deciding whether or not to keep the scent – and you can return it, if it’s not for you.
This candle, meanwhile, is utterly dreamy. Ffern’s spring candle captures some of the scents from that very special place: wild mint and thyme, from the stream banks, peppery caraway and aniseed, and there’s an earthiness. (Reckon this is probably a patchouli note…)
It's absolutely the sense-awakening thing, for this time of year – and the candle itself comes with a lovely lid, featuring a limited editionenamel artwork by Sussex-based artists Liv and Dom Cave-Sutherland depicting a flowery head, symbolising the return of spring.
And we’ll definitely light a candle to that…
£89 (to Ffern Ledger members), £99 in-store – find it here (but do scroll down as it’s hard to spot!
