Beauty Bible Loves… Dr. Jackson’s Intense Restoring Eye Cream
Traditional wisdom with eye creams is to use them only on the ‘orbital bone’ – the bony bit near the brow and on top of the cheekbone – lest a rich formulation travels down the train-tracks of our lines and wrinkles into the eyes, causing puffiness and irritation.
But it never feels enough, does it? Lids (with scant oil glands of their own) can feel dry and papery, and we want the soothing feel of something cooling, close to the eye.
Well, we’ve had no problems applying Dr. Jackson’s Intense Restoring Eye Cream on lids themselves, as well as that orbital bone. It’s specifically formulated for those with sensitive or reactive skin, like us – and we’re liking the results from this new, lightweight gel-crème treatment by the botanically-powered British skincare range Dr. Jackson’s.
Are lines and wrinkles dramatically reduced…? Well, no, certainly not yet, but lids are definitely smoother, and we’ve got our eyes peeled (as it were) for longer-term benefits. Main thing is: it’s nice to use. So we DO. And with eye creams, that’s really important.
The key botanical here is something called ‘extract of Blackjack plant’, the common-or-garden name for Bidens Pilosa, a plant-derived alternative to retinol. What we like is that this really does sink in fast, with that smoothing and soothing action, creating a decent, non-slippy base for eye make-up, too.
