It’s a book that Beauty Bible Loves, today: an uplifting, positive, inspiring (and colourful) book by the amazing Holly Tucker, a woman who has kept up the spirits of small business owners, creatives, indie retailers – and anyone who just needs a bit of a fillip – through the pandemic.

If you don’t listen to her podcasts, you should: she has featured so many beauty dynamos, from LUSH founder Mark Constantine to Caroline Hirons via Cult Beauty’s co-founder Alexia Inge. (And our own Jo, who last year was Holly’s guest at a live ‘Conversations of Congregation’, in Harrogate, just before we all locked down.)

There’s a real purpose to this book, which is to make us ALL think about how we want to spend our lives. Holly figured out that we have 29,000 days on this planet – and so we’d better hurry up and decide how best to spend them. For Holly, this has meant founding businesses like Not On The High Street and her Holly & Co. venture, which offers amazing support to start-ups and fledgling businesses (and also has a shop selling THE coolest merch for female-founded businesses, podcast fans, those of us who want to shop independently or encourage kidpreneurs in our families).

We couldn’t put it better than our amazing friend Marcia Kilgore, founder of Beauty Pie (and FitFlop, and Bliss, and Soap & Glory, and we’ve probably forgotten something…) She describes Holly’s book as a ‘mini-business bible packed with motivation, whether you need some for your side-hustle or have your sights set on an empire. Just so. And even if you don’t run your own business, we think you’ll enjoy this story of a woman overcoming adversity – her dyslexia – to write a brilliant book, which shares her rollercoaster journey, highs and lows, and the amazing insights she’s gleaned along the way. Who simply continues to inspire us, on a daily basis. And who reminds us: there is no time to waste…
