Beauty Bible Loves… Benefit Play Daze Airy Liquid Blush
A streaming cold meant (*sob*) we had to miss Benefit’s launch of their first new blushers in ages. Which is a shame, because that means we’ve missed out on two weeks of natural, face-flattering, fabulously-textured flush.
Admittedly some of the shades of Benefit Play Daze Airy Liquid Blush pictured above look a bit scare-the-horses, but don’t be put off. You need a dot of these. Basically, a micro-dot, and build out from there as needed. A tiny touch of the doe-foot wand to the centre of the apple of the cheeks, and then smooth it to seamless perfection with a synthetic blusher brush or fingers (easier). You’ve got a little bit of playtime, meanwhile (unlike Benefit Benetint, the iconic clear blusher, where you have to make it a bit snappy).
These blushers blend like a dream. Honestly, a dream. And you can add a touch more, and a touch more, as you like, till you’re blushing at the level you like. (We also like to add a little dab at the top of the forehead, blending into the hairline – it somehow pulls the face together and is really rather becoming.) What’s more, they last on skin in a way that many liquid and cream blushers don’t, so that you still look healthy by the time you’ve finished work. (Easy and lightweight to slip into the bag to touch up, though, if you like.)
We would recommend going into a Benefit stockist to find your shade if you have your eye on some of the racier colours, to try them out and check they’re a match – OR there are a couple of foolproof options we’d point you in the direction of: Apricotta (an apricot-nude) and Starlaa, which is a slightly bronzier nude. Reckon those would work on most skintones.
Very pleasing soft-touch packaging, too. (But that’s just a litle bonus.)
