BELLA Wanderlash

One for the skimpy-lashed, here. (That includes us.)

We often look at mascaras that promise โ€˜false lash effectsโ€™, and think: โ€˜As. If.โ€™ Many mascara wands weโ€™ve tried simply skate off lashes, while other volumising formulas look tarantula-esque, when swept on.

But weโ€™re definitely game for trying a product that claims to be โ€˜a 30 second shortcut to instantly expensive lashes,โ€™ telling us to expect โ€˜hi-fi definition, a supercharged lift, dramatic length and lavish volume.โ€™

Thus, BELLA Wanderlash entered our lives โ€“ and immediately, our make-up bag: a genuine, massively lash-boosting option for when we want a more glamorous look. The concave brush grabs every last lash, lifting and coating with a dense, inky pigment. Both the curl and the mascara really stay put (in fact, the formulaโ€™s waterproof).

Itโ€™s buildable without clumping, if you want even MORE va-va-volume โ€“ as you can see from the videos on BELLAโ€™s website, you can just keep going and going (although thatโ€™s not our thing; one good coat is plenty, we find).

The formula itself is kind to lashes โ€“ something thatโ€™s very important to founder Sabrina Ranger, who created her brand after lots of run-ins with false lashes that ripped out her own lashes, or mascaras that irritated her eyes. (Weโ€™ve sensitive eyes โ€“ and this just doesnโ€™t make them itchy or red, at all.) Those lash-conditioning ingredients, meanwhile, include jojoba oil, hemp extract and blackcurrant oil, said to boost thickness. (Weโ€™re always up for that.)

It is, so far, the only product that BELLA offer โ€“ and you know when a brand dares to launch with a single item, theyโ€™ve focused their energies on getting it right.

We will keep our (flashily-lashed) eyes open, for their next innovation.
