Beauty Bible Loves... Bali Body Shimmering Tanning Gel SPF15
Wow. This is LUSCIOUS.
Right now, weβre in that early stage of summer when β if you havenβt already been away β skin needs a bit of extra help to get glowing. Legs, arms, shoulders β theyβre all coming out to play, after essentially being under the equivalent of a large stone for many months.
But Bali Body Bronze Shimmering Tan Gel SPF15 leaves skin instantly nourished, gleaming, gold (and lightly fragranced with coconut). Itβs very scary, at first sight: a deep brown gel, with shimmering bits. βBetter keep that away from the sheets!,β was our first thought, having opened it in the bedroom. So we nipped off to the bathroom β and emerged, goddess-like, just a few minutes later.
The gilded gel massages easily into skin, leaving it uniformly bronzed and glowing, with mica particles for glimmer. It feels properly nourishing, too (not a natural product, but it does have added soybean oil and vitamin E).
You definitely donβt have to apply it all over (we just do the bits that showed, in a dress!) β although there are some impressive videos on the website, here, which show young women doing just that. Bali Body say to reapply after swimming, but if you donβt towel-dry, you probably donβt have to bother. Itβs quite water-resistant, in our opinion β but not rub-resistant. If you were going to bronze yourself for bikini-wearing, meanwhile, youβd probably want to ask someone else to apply it to your back, for evenness. (NB It washes off in the shower or bath with soap and water.)
The impressive thing is that even though the colour it delivers is really quite deep and intense, it looks super-real. Our one caveat? Though itβs an SPF15 with broad spectrum protection against UVA, please donβt rely on this for sun protection on holiday; if youβre headed for the beach or pool, apply your normal sunscreen first, wait for it to dry β and then glisten up.
