7 Secrets of Beauty & Wellbeing: Amanda Grossman, make-up artist and co-founder e11even
A few weeks ago we chose as our Fab Find of the Week a beautifully grounding yet uplifting aromatherapy-powered fragrance oil from e11even, a new brand co-created by Cat Deeley and her friend, make-up artist Amanda Grossman.
During her dynamic and very distinguished career, Amanda has worked with an entire red carpet’s worth of A-listers, including Gillian Anderson, Rosamund Pike, Lesley Manville and Courtney Love. It’s a super-busy lifestyle, which led Amanda to seek ways of finding balance. The fragrance oil – which she initially only shared with clients (including Cat, who fell in love with it) was one route. But we invited her to reveal her ‘blueprint for wellness’, at a time when many of us are anticipating life revving up again, after the summer holidays – and are rather wondering how we’ll cope.
My wellbeing tip of all time is: always moisturise! The importance of keeping skin hydrated throughout all the seasons is a game changer. I am a huge believer in facial massage, too; a one-minute intense massage in the morning and at night with an oil is something we should all be doing. The results are immediate.
I try to get a good night’s sleep (but it’s something I’m still working on). I know I don’t go to bed early enough and this is an issue I battle with. Having a hectic work/family life impacts on the hours I get to sleep…this is something I am trying to change; sleeping is a huge part of well-being and the lack of it almost criminal.
I look for loyalty. It’s the quality I rate most In people, and is something I personally always bring to all relationships in my life.
I am grateful everyday to have the wisest, smartest role model. My magnificent mother constantly inspires me. She has always taught me that kindness, being a listener and trusting your gut will get you everywhere…she is also the reason I am totally obsessed with the power of smell.
My hero product since the late 90s has been e11even fragrance oil. I created It during my younger years and through vast travels. It brings calm when I can not sleep, it invigorates after a morning shower, it comforts me in uneasy situations but most of all it always makes me feel unforgettable!
I supplement my diet every day. I always take collagen and Biotin and always in liquid form.
