100 Ways for Every Girl to Look and Feel Fantastic

We'll declare an interest:  Alice-Hart Davis, co-author of this book, is a good friend. But even if we didn't know her from a bar of pH-balanced soap, this book would earn its place on this page.  Alice is an esteemed and award-winning beauty editor, who - like us - has a truly questioning attitude towards the whole beauty arena, taking nothing at face value.  (She's also behind the excellent teen skin range, Good Things.)

We know only too well that the confidence of many teenage girls is somewhere in their boots - so this would be a fantastic present for any of them, because it's written from a true insider's perspective: Alice's co-author is her own daughter, Beth Hindhaugh.

It's packed to the rafters with excellent, down-to-earth advice - and covers all the subjects that teens truly fret about, from how to tackle spots to dealing with body parts she doesn't love, offering ways of dressing that'll boost her self-esteem.  It even talks about how to stand up straight in a way that won't have the average girl stomping out of the room, slamming a door in her sulky wake.  There's stuff about food.  And body hair.  And make-up. And so, so, so much more.

And we rather wish we'd known this when we were angst-y teenagers, ourselves.  As the next-best-thing, we're giving it to all the gorgeous-girls-who-don't-think-they-are that we know.
