Beauty Bible Weekend Steal: Lush limited edition Orangutan Bath Bomb

Let us put our cards on the table here: we don’t love every Lush bath bomb we’ve come within sniffing distance of. Oh, no.

But this, folks, is FABULOUS! And honestly, would please any fragrance-loving sophisticate, we think. Lots of patchouli (always appeals to our inner hippie), some vanilla, and all-round a wonderful, warm, grounding – and grown-up –scent.

It is also in a great cause, which we always appreciate – the SOS (Sumatran Orangutan Society). Lush use regenerative Sumatran dark patchouli oil from Sumatra to create the scent, helping to offer a livelihood for farmers. It is also seeking, as Lush put it, ‘to bring global awareness to a little-known wildlife haven, West Toba, and support communities there in protecting their incredible rainforests with this latest campaign. It’s a critical area for the preservation of endangered megafauna, including Sumatran orangutans, Sumatran tigers, gibbons, hornbills and sun bears.’

Lush are supporting conservation actions to safeguard a corridor connecting the habitat of orangutans and other wildlife in this biodiversity hotspot, and forest-edge communities, with all profits from this bath treat going to the SOS.

Also – and this is FAB… Inside the bath bomb is a QR code. Once it’s revealed itself, you can point your phone at it (being careful not to drop said phone in the bathwater, please!), to listen to a very soothing and utterly transportive soundtrack, for a bit of Sumatran forest bathing while you soak in the orange-tinted, gloriously fragrant waters.

It’s the bomb, honestly. (Also: literally.)
