Beauty Bible Weekend Steal: e.l.f. Bronzing Drops

First off: follow the instructions below, when it comes to using these drops.

We didn’t… and ended up looking like Stig of the Dump – albeit a rather shimmery Stig of the Dump* – after applying them ‘neat’ to the skin.

‘That can’t be right,’ we thought, as we scrabbled around for glasses.

And it wasn’t. Because these brilliant, budget-friendly, glow-getting bronzing drops are designed to be added to moisturiser, your daily facial SPF or even foundation, to help your skintone transition to summer. (e.l.f. Bronzing Drops are also ideal on holiday – a risk-free alternative to facial self-tanner, because the formula is easy to cleanse away, at the end of the day.)

Experiment with a drop or two, and then if you need more, just build up next day to the level of bronzitude that pushes your buttons. The formula is skin-friendly, with vitamin E and sunflower seed oil, so it does blend beautifully into whatever ‘carrier’ you choose.

There are three shades, Rose Gold, Pure Gold and Copper Gold – see pic above – but slightly hilariously, the photo actually shows the shades applied NEAT to skin, rather than the subtler effect you get when adding to moisturiser, SPF or foundation. So you can see exactly why we were a bit freaked out by the deepness of the bronze, before we figured out it had to be blended into another face product!

So remember: do as we say, not as we did. (And not as per e.l.f.’s own photo!)

* If you don’t know who Stig of the Dump is, you are MUCH younger than us, and you need to get hold of a copy, by author Clive King, immediately. One of our favouritest-ever books, from childhood.
