And as the years have gone by, that’s grown into active dislike. (Jo literally feels panicky and on sensory overload in department stores, and avoids them wherever possible.) So Sephora’s Quiet Hours Pilot Project is music to our ears – only NOT. It began a couple of weeks ago, and will run till 26th July, in selected stores. If it’s a success, Sephora – the first beauty retailer to pilot this idea worldwide – should be extending the scheme. Home brow-dyeing is so easy that we’ve stuck with it ever since, Jo relying on a pack of Schwarzkopf dye (excellent stuff) which she’s eked out till right now. But it finally tinted its last, which meant a trip to Boots – and the acquisition of this relatively recent entry to the market: @lorealparis Brow Color Semi-Permanent Tint. Somewhat cynically, Jo first applied one coat – and it was dry within a few seconds. Cagily, a day later, she applied a second coat – and a glossy top coat soon, after – and again, completely rock solid in a couple of blinks of an eye. What a treat for the senses. If you don’t know them, Granado is a Brazilian brand which landed in the UK around three years ago, and has really made a colourful, fragrant splash in the world of fragrance and bodycare. There are now a couple of other Granado boutiques – at Ham Yard Hotel, and on Chelsea’s King’s Road – and they all offer the same immersive sensorial experience, alive with colour and scent. The products are good value – but we are especially taken right now with this Granado Exuberance Hand Cream Trio, featuring a really decent 50g (handbag-worthy) size of their luscious yet not greasy hand creams, in three different and exotic scents.
