Beauty Clinic: Help me get my fizz back!

Q. I usually love autumn but I seem to have lost my fizz, and now have a cold – not a good look. Any ideas?

A. Ah, the cold thing first then. Two thoughts here: if it’s the very first symptoms, take a 15-20 drops of Echinacea herbal tincture in warm water three times daily until all the symptoms have completely disappeared. Echinacea used to be recommended as a daily preventive against colds but herbalist Michael McIntyre says dosing yourself at the first sign of a cold, cough or sore throat is the best course of action. Now: a few beauty thoughts for the coldy bit. Your skin is likely to be dry so don't skimp on moisturiser but let it sink in for at least five minutes before applying light foundation with concealer where needed - probably round your nose so remember to take it out and about with you.
