Guerlain La Petite Robe Noire (for nails and lips)

Tra, la, la! These are just a gorgeous bit of prettiness - a treat for the lips, nails (and nostrils, actually).

Now, we start from the point that Guerlain's lipsticks already smell beautiful. The perfect 'Mummy's lipstick' sort of smell, a-swirl with violet sweetness. La Petite Robe Noire Lipsticks, however, take that a stage further, infusing 20 shades of this beautifully-textured lipstick - balm-like in comfort, actually, with a pigmented finish that's not-too-sheer, not-too-dense, featuring the fruity-floral notes of their global bestselling fragrance.

The same fragrance is infused into the polishes, too - although it takes a couple of hours to make itself known in the Guerlain La Petite Robe Noire Colour Lacquer. (At first, you get the signature nail varnish-y smell, and might wonder: 'What's all the fuss about?' But just give it time.) The polish really goes the distance, too, we've found - and if you want to 'reactivate' the scent after 24 hours, apply a coat of La Petite Robe Noire Ultra Shiny Top Coat, which also works to shield against knocks and wear.

These are basically high-performance products with an extra 'wow' factor. And if only every 'gimmick' delivered like this, we'd be very happy beauty editors indeed!
