Beauty Bible Loves... Benefit The POREfessional Concealer (and foundation, too)

It was definitely fun that Benefit sent several shades of this in an all-singing, all-dancing press presentation – that cardboard TV is now being enjoyed by a family of Sylvanians which resides with some small people, in our extended family – but even without that ta-dah! moment, we’d have fallen hard for this. The POREfessional range a longstanding fave among our Beauty Bible testers and readers (and us), having developed from a simple pore-smoothing (and actually, line-smoothing) primer into a full range of complexion perfectors.

Although The POREfessional Foundation launched last year, first time we got our hands on it was with this concealer drop. So, first off, can we trumpet its star qualities? A wonderful, serum-like texture that’s easy to blend with either fingers or a brush, and coverage that is impressively correcting, without being in the slightest bit heavy. To be honest, we’ve been right off foundations lately, instead opting for tinted serums – but as autumn beckons, this has lured us back.

The texture of Benefit The POREfessional Concealer is also akin to a serum, too – which honestly is our favourite-of-all-times feel to a make-up product, for sheer blendability and skin compatibility. So, the skincare-led coverage here is top-notch – byeeeeeee, circles, shadows, redness! – but not mask-like. What we’ve been doing, for application, is applying two dots to back of hand, picking up each with a synthetic brush, then blending into lids, inner eye and under-eye. The before-and-after is so astonishing, it could be a party trick.

Benefit sent three shades of Benefit The POREfessional Concealer, after asking us to fill in an online shade-match questionnaire that made the selection based on products we already use. To be honest, the shades see pretty forgiving and any of the three would have been just dandy. So, if you can’t get to a counter or a Benefit store to try these, so long as you’re in the ballpark you should be fine.
