Beauty Bible Weekend Steal: The Body Shop Camomile Sumptuous Cleansing Butter

The clue is in the name. ‘Sumptuous.’ Because this really is, while being really tough on make-up. Long-lasting make-up, foundation, general gunk – even mascara, if you massage it gently into the eye zone – literally melt away with this absolute GEM of a find from The Body Shop.

And when they say ‘butter’, meanwhile, that feels really accurate. The texture is soft, like butter, rather than set like a balm. An absolute joy to use, lightly-scented (sort of fresh-floral), harnessing chamomile extract sourced here in the UK, in Norfolk. As with all of this style of cleanser, we recommend removing with a hot, wet washcloth or muslin – and although they nudge shoppers in the direction of a ‘double-cleanse’ by following with a face wash, we really don’t find there’s any need.

It’s another part of the renaissance of The Body Shop, which is seeing it get back to its roots (and Anita Roddick would be SO proud): more natural, sustainably-packaged (this comes in a cute aluminium tin) – genius products that don’t break the bank.

The 20ml travel size is a great intro, under a tenner – and we’re pretty sure you’ll transition to the bigger size, which is most definitely still a steal at £12 for 90ml.

Butter up, is our advice.
