Beauty Bible Loves... MERIT Flush Balm

Thank heavens cream blusher has swung back into favour. For a while there, it was like finding gold on the make-up shelves.

Here is a quintessential example of why we love cream blusher. The domed top makes it just so easy and un-messy to apply: a circle or a sweep of blusher on the cheeks, then blend towards the hairline โ€“ in our case, with a Trinny London Blush/Bronzer T-Brush, which presses it into skin and creates a seamless result; done like this, the flush really stays in place (though the blusherโ€™s neat enough to pop into a handbag if you feel you need a touch-up later).

MERIT โ€“ bit of a cult among beauty aficianados after it landed here from the States โ€“ describe their range as โ€˜clean and minimalist make-upโ€™ and weโ€™re enjoying exploring the line. Packaging, weโ€™re told, is โ€˜Made with 43% recycled plastic,โ€™ while outer packaging is either recyclable, reusable, or compostable.

You can see the blusher shades above, meanwhile โ€“ weโ€™re using Cheeky, which is a completely foolproof deep rosewood shade (see it on skin, below), but plan also on trying Aprรจs, for midwinter pallor and a just-back-from-a-brisk-walk vibe.

Smoosh, smoosh, job done!
