It’s A 10 Minute Miracle Hair Mask

We’re not sure of the physiology behind the fact that hair seems suddenly so dry in lockdown. It probably has something to do with the fact that most of us are past the point when we’d normally get our fried, frayed ends trimmed off – but the earliest we can hope for on a salon reopening front is 1st July. (And our hearts truly bleed for the salon community, on that front.)

However, a little pot of hair wonder has landed on our desks that we need to tell you about. Allegedly It’s A 10 Minute Miracle Hair Mask is a ‘cult’ product in America. But that interests us not a jot: how did it do on our hair…?

Well, AMAZINGLY is the answer.

Jo was our guinea pig, slathering it onto seriously highlighted hair that had lost its lustre and bounce, big-time, over the last few weeks. Now, this can be used as a 2-3 minute treatment, but Jo actually left it on for 15 minutes, post-shampooing, underneath a warm towel. (They recommend a damp towel, but that was just too chilly for her.)

Rinsed out, towelled then Dyson AirStyler-dried, Jo’s hair was amazingly shiny (see below!), softened and super-smooth, with highlights seemingly revived. Of course the Dyson helped in terms of smoothness, but this was a proper hair transformation – and a most welcome one. (Not the cheapest mask we’ve ever trialled, but it goes a surprisingly long way.) Packaging-wise, we particularly like the flip-top lid, for ease of scooping.

The natural ingredients which help to power this mask include apricot kernel and sweet almond oils, linseed and oat kernel extracts. (There are silicones in there, too, and this isn’t what we’d call a ‘natural’ product, FYI.) The texture is rich but not heavy, and there’s a rather wonderful smell that’s sort of ozonic, sort of citrusy and not overwhelming.

Jo’s tried it a second time in an infra-red sauna that husband Craig snuck into the house (yes, honestly) just before we were all incarcerated, and the results are even better – probably because of that heat helping with penetration.

‘Miracle’? Always an ambitious claim, but not in this case.
