Beauty Bible Loves... Elizabeth Arden discoveries

It’s been a while since any Elizabeth Arden newness made it onto our radar – but there you go; it’s the skincare equivalent of waiting ages for a bus, and then several arrive at the same time. We’ve been trying all of these, and rather than single out a particular find, we think they’re all deserving of coverage – as we’ll explain.

Elizabeth Arden Advanced Gold Ceramide Capsules are a really rather satisfying next-generation addition to the iconic capsule family. We are long-term advocates of the brand’s ceramide capsules (they were among the first, if not the first, to talk about these barrier-boosting ingredients); they deliver the perfect dose of product, and are brilliantly packable: no need to lug a serum bottle away with you – just throw however many capsules you’ll need, in your kit. So, these silky, single-dose serum capsules deliver potent ceramides alongside skin-supporting lipids. Result? A smoother, more cushioned complexion, with fine lines looking softened from the get-go, actually, and skin feeling beautifully comfy.

Hyaluronic + Peptides Hydra-Plumping Water Cream has really wowed us: the perfect mega-quenching texture for post-summer skin. It’s light as a cloud yet very generously hydrating, in the form of a gel-cream which combines moisture-loving hyaluronic acid with skin-plumping peptides. Leaves skin bouncy, dewy and jolly comfortably hydrated; you can hardly feel it’s there (which is particularly appealing for combination and oily complexions). Elizabeth Arden are great at ‘dosing’ products: inside the cap of this bottle is a dispenser which you depress once, to get the optimum amount of product. No more, no less.

Eight Hour Hydraplay Daily Defence Nourishing Fluid SPF40 is a welcome daily essential from the fabled Eight Hour collection – and again, this would be great for oily skins (or SPF refuseniks). A truly featherweight moisturising fluid, it pairs broad-spectrum SPF40 protection with nourishing (but absolutely non-greasy) hydration. Great under make-up or on its own.

Hyaluronic + Peptides Ceramide Capsules – from the same collection as that moisturiser we’re so taken with (above), these neat, biodegradable capsules also help ramp up the moisture levels, big-time. Inside each capsule, the optimum dose of hyaluronic acid, peptides and ceramides ensures skin looks visibly more springy and smooth, while those ceramides also get to work like microscopic ‘building bricks’, helping to support that vital skin barrier.

A fab four, in our opinion.
