Fab Find of the Week: DoSe Triple Vitamin C Serum 23% + Ferulic Acid

We’re longtime devotees of vitamin C for its complexion brightening, tissue firming, brown spot fading properties. Now DoSe, formulated by Victoria Health in house pharmacist Shabir Daya, has launched a powerhouse formula with not one, not two – but three forms of vitamin C plus ferulic acid, a powerful antioxidant.

So why three types of vitamin C? Basically it’s to achieve maximum effect – which we’re all for. Here’s the lowdown: ascorbic acid boosts collagen production and reduces pigmentation; 3-O-ethyl ascorbic acid brightens skin and targets dark spots (think of it as the Exocet missile); while ascorbyl glucoside is a stable form that supports collagen and smooths wrinkles.

Meanwhile Ferulic Acid protects the Vitamin C from oxidation, neutralising potentially skin damaging free radicals. In fact it’s a bit of a super star itself: acting to intensively hydrate the skin cells, which then hold moisture longer so your complexion looks smoother and more supple, as well more even because it helps reduce pigmentation and dark spots.

Directions are to apply one to two pumps twice a day after cleansing and the big plus is that unlike some other vitamin C products it sinks in immediately, leaving no greasy sticky residue so in the morning you can layer moisturiser, SPF etc on straight away.

Anything else? Oh yes, it’s AMAZING value so you can be generous to your skin without breaking the bank.

NB It’s not suitable for hyper-sensitive skin. If that might be you, please do a patch test first.

PS The visual above is a bit of an in-joke – we thought we’d put the serum on its own podium, since Victoria Health’s Gill Sinclair likes to talk about being ‘on the podium’ when she’s having a rant about something in her brilliant weekly newsletter, ‘The Weekend Read.’ Well, we’re having a rave, so that’s our version of a ‘podium moment’ – and this serum definitely deserves its own plinth.
