Beauty Bible Loves... delilah Wake Up Radiant Elixir
We’re all for anything that makes skin look glowy, but not sweaty. Enter this new addition to delilah’s Wake Up Radiant Elixir, the latest addition to this British brand’s excellent Wake Up range. (See our reviews of a couple of our fave innovations, here.)
A couple of drops may be all you need. There are several techniques, which we’ve had fun playing with. Apply a pump or two and smooth all over, so it works as a primer for mineral make-up, skin tint or foundation (if you’re still using foundation…) to beef up the radiance. (Alternatively, you can experiment with adding a pump or so to your actual base, to enhance its radiant power.
You can also use it as a highlighter – a word (and a product) we often run from, but hand on heart this does NOT accentuate wrinkles, but rather blurs them a tad. Rupert Kingston, the make-up pro who is delilah’s founder (check out his Quick Tips, here), suggests: ‘Apply it to high points of the face to create gentle dimension and a lifted appearance.’ In other words, brow-bone, cheekbones – and a dab between the brows works wonders, we’ve found. Tap into skin, to blend.
There are two shades: cool Moonlight, which is a sort of oyster pink (see below), and Candlelight, which is warm, heading towards sun-kissed. For this time of year, we’re opting for Candlelight, but we can see that as summer’s natural glow fades, Moonlight will come into its own.
Being delilah, meanwhile, there are skincare beneifts to these two – raspberry stem cells, for elasticity and hydration; hyaluronic acid microspheres (you know what they do), and bakuchiol, nature’s anti-inflammatory alternative to retinol.
The product we didn’t know we needed, but we rather do.
