Christophe Robin Luscious Curl Ritual

Finally, the hair industry is taking curls and coils seriously. We’ve known from the get-go that curls and coils need special care – and are not all created equal, with many different variants, depending on your heritage.

It was announced earlier this year that everyone learning hairdressing skills will, in future, require the special training required to tackle curls and coils. Increasingly, salons are ensuring that their own staff require the special training to deal with the different demands of curls and coils – and now (hallelujah) the mainstream haircare industry is catching up, too.

We certainly welcome this range from top Parisian hairdresser Christophe Robin: luxurious products, equally luxurious textures, and an inclusive approach. (The packaging, meanwhile, shows off the fresh new design for Christophe Robin’s range.)

The first two products, designed to help control frizz and boost manageability while maintaining ‘bounce’, are enriched with chia seed: Luscious Curl Conditioning Cleanser/£33 for 250ml, and Luscious Curl Defining Cream/£28 for 150ml, a leave-in styling must-have.

Catering to tighter curls and curls is a duo featuring luscious, velvety kokum butter, to help quench hair’s thirst and add ‘crunch-free’ definition. Alongside Luscious Curls Cleansing Balm/£33 for 250ml, sits nourishing Luscious Curl Defining Butter/£28 for 150ml, which can be smoothed through dry, brittle lengths and help to tame even the most rebellious of curls. (And you can work this into hair at any point when it feels dry; we know many women with curls and coils who avoid over-washing, but do like to lavish moisturising TLC on their hair at regular intervals.)

The haircare world is waking up to the fact we live in a global community, at last – and we couldn’t be happier about it.
