As the sun beams, the daffs dance and the blossom blooms, don’t you long for a sparkling fresh scent to step into Spring? We certainly do, so we’re happy as Easter bunnies to bring you this lovely prize draw from STORIES Parfums.
Founded in Northern Ireland in 2018, this luxury perfume house is an olfactory ode to the memories that have shaped the life of Tonya Kidd-Beggs, capturing moments which were significant in her somewhat turbulent life story. Having faced her childhood demons and found happiness with her second husband, Tonya became a stay at home mum. But scent had always been a beacon of light and hope for her so… she decided to learn how to be a perfumer and create her own signature fragrances, which have now won a bunch of Awards.
As Tonya says, these are her STORIES, which might just inspire you to create and record your own memories as Spring unfolds.
STORIES No.01 is a symbol of coming out of dark days into the light - a bright citrus scent combining bergamot, orange blossom and grapefruit with warm cedarwood and a delicate accord of jasmine, heliotrope and figtree, on a base of amber, sandalwood and vetivert. The inspiration came when Tonya was out walking one day and felt as if she was enveloped in a beautiful scent. ‘I thought: If I could just bottle that…’ So eventually she did just that. And this is the elegant, seductive result.
The second scent Tonya blended - STORIES No.02 – recalled days spent in her grandfather’s garden as a child, among his rose bushes and orange trees. This woody oriental is, she says, like an invitation to kick off your shoes at the river and recall past happiness. First - a bouquet of Bulgarian Rose, enhanced with green tea, ginger and cardamom. Warm heart notes balance honey tobacco with cedarwood and patchouli, on a base of amber and musk. It’s unforgettable – like the people who wear it. (These are gender-inclusive, so watch out for light-fingered partners…)
