First things first: if you’re thinking ‘Whoops! Beauty Bible has gone off into hippy dippy land,’ no, we really haven’t. Zoetic CBD (short for cannabidiol), which is farmed organically in Colorado, is guaranteed free of THC, the psychoactive component. So no tripping off into brain La-La Land with this range.

However, CBD, which is the most abundant cannabinoid of the 100 plus found in hemp, does play very nicely with our bodies’ endocannabinoid system (ECS). Extraordinarily, this was only identified in the early 1990s (Sarah remembers writing about it at the time) but it’s acknowledged as an important regulator of stress, mood, pain and sleep, among other things.

CBD oil is well absorbed topically, as well as orally. And the reason CBD oil is increasingly used in skincare is that, as well as interacting with our ECS, it’s a potent antioxidant and anti-inflammatory so it’s nourishing, deeply moisturising and calming for your skin.

To be honest, we were sceptical about CBD skincare at first as there are plenty of great skin oils already widely in use. But we’ve come round to the idea that, actually, CBD really is a valuable addition.

Then we tried these new Zoetic products – and well, the ‘oohs’ and ‘aahs’ as the gorgeously-scented Jasmine and Lavender CBD Night Cream absorbed into our face/neck/décolletage told their own story. (CBD itself can have a slightly musty smell/taste, which isn’t present here.)
