Who was Misia…?

The blogosphere is abuzz with news of Chanel's latest fragrance - Misia. Mysterious name…? Not really: Misia Sert was the friend who introduced Chanel to the world of arts, and the fabulous Ballets Russes in particular. That's the inspiration behind the stunning new scent: all powder puffs, lipsticks, floaty frocks and elegance. It's been created by new Chanel in-house perfumer Olivier Polge (son of Jacques Polge, who's long been their 'nose), to evoke the scent of backstage in a theatre. Utterly wearable. Utterly beautiful. And, we predict, a massive hit.

We stumbled across this little film on Chanel's website which explains more about Misia Sert, and her role in Chanel's life - and watching it is just an enjoyable way to spend your coffee break, frankly...
