What Sarah's loving now...

Sarah loves…. pretty light spring make-up colours and a fabulous brow enhancerClinique Moisture Surge CC Cream Compact Hydrating Colour Corrector SPF 25

Clinique’s foundations are consistently good and – to my mind – a bit underrated.  They come in all types, textures and tones and this new compact version of their original Moisture Surge CC Cream now travels everywhere with me.  The light silky texture is really moisturising and gives just enough coverage to disguise all those pesky little blemishes (brown patches, red veins – you know!) so skin looks dewy and velvety – I know those words are over-used but in this case deservedly so.  And the compact with a good-sized mirror is brilliant.  It comes with a sponge but I invariably use my fingers.

Benefit Gimme Brow

This is S-O-O-O-O clever!  A brush-on gel with fibres that magically stick to sparse pale hairs or even skin – which has teeny hairs anyway.  In two shades, Light/Medium (perfect for me) and Medium/Deep, the non-smudge, water resistant formula gives truly natural looking brows that last all day. You can easily build up the colour with the tapered brush – but if you do make a mistake, it’s easy to wipe off immediately.  The only brow enhancer now claiming space in my make-up bag. Benefit counters also offer brow-shaping – well worth investigating.

Lanolips Golden Ointment

Another handbag staple here. This little tube of rich, thick 100 per cent natural ‘Super Moisturiser’ delivers a dry-skin-banishing combo of medical grade lanolin with manuka honey and vitamin E.  I use it for stubborn bits around my toenails, for the cuticles on my hands, and it’s genius when you are on a plane – smooth it in hands and on frown lines and you will exit with soft paws and softened furrows.

Jane Iredale PureMoist Lipstick

Lips contain no oil glands, explains Jane, so her PureMoist Lipstick collection is full of natural oils – moringa, avocado and sunflower seed – plus orange peel wax, and organic pomegranate and blackberry fruit extracts to keep your lips luscious.  So the lippies feel delicious and come in a fab range of deeply pigmented colours: for summer days, I love Lily, a soft mid-pink (Lily) – no blue tones and not orangey, just a very flattering slick of colour.

Bobbi Brown Perfectly Defined Gel Eyeliner

Our favourite make-up artist has done it again!  Can't think why I should be surprised after all this time but it is such a relief to find this neat eyeliner – rather like a perfect fibre-tip pen – that just does the job perfectly.  Push the narrow soft tip into and along your lashes then smudge the outer corners if you’re an old hippy like me – or leave them crisp if you prefer.  Whichever way your eyes will look more defined, bigger, more gorgeous in a trice – with no dragging, tugging or pulling. Perfection! In six shades, Chocolate Truffle, Pitch Black, Sapphire, Scotch, Steel Grey and Violet Night.
