Beauty Bible Weekend Steal: Lush x The Moomins
Who doesn’t love the Moomins? We definitely do. (And are very much looking forward to the film of author Tove Jansson’s novel The Summer Book, coming in August.) All the small people we know love the Moomins, too.
So, fellow fans will want to know about this latest collaboration from Lush, then, which just went live on their website. Because the Moomins are more than simply cute cartoon characters. As Lush explain, they are ‘rooted in themes of compassion, tolerance, and belonging. Lush and Moomin have a shared belief that a kinder, more inclusive world starts with a warm welcome, freedom, and care – for people, the planet, and animals.’
That chimes SO loudly with us – we need more, more, more of this in today’s climate. (And we know plenty of people for whom popping a bath bomb in the tub already instantly makes the world a better place, frankly.)
And we quote – only because they put it better than we ever could – ‘For Lush, a company which has become as well known for its bold campaigns as its bath bombs, “all are welcome always” isn’t just a tagline, it’s a core value. Since 2007, Lush has supported grassroots organisations and activists through multiple programs, enabling them to continue their work to improve society. Through its giving streams, in 2024, Lush celebrated raising over £100 million and having made over 19,000 donations globally thanks to the support of its customers.’ That’s wowzer stuff.
So, back to this collection, which features a wide range of bath, body and fragrant delights. And, the creative team at Lush explain: ‘For Cloudberry Body Spray, Lush has included cloudberry seed oil, as cloudberries are commonly grown natively in Finland. And in Moominmamma’s body lotion, Lush was inspired by her recipe: coconut cream and vanilla pod infusion are blended to give your skin a hydrated feel.’
So: a collection to make you think about kindness and inclusivity. Or, taken at face (or body?) value, simply to bring a little extra pleasure to the everyday – and for not-stupid-money: the Moomintroll Bath Bomb (coconutty, cottony) is just £5.50, the while the priciest item in the line is that Cloudberry Body Spray.
We think Tove would approve.
