A couple of months back, we enjoyed an audience with Victoria Beckham at Claridges. The strictest of embargoes has been in place until today – when with a big fanfare, we're delighted to share with you our favourites from what is a completely spectacular collection. We'd previously loved Victoria's debut collection for Estée Lauder, which sold out in the blink of an eye. (Read what we had to say about it here.) The hefty packaging is stunning, and the formulations top-notch.

And the simple fact is: this is even more exciting – offering several products destined to jump straight into our make-up bags.

Cheek Creme (Blonde Mink), £46 – a dewy-finish cream blush that doubles on lips, for an incredibly smooth, naturally-flushed look. (Perfect replacement for Jo's discontinued favourite blusher, by AERIN.)

Eye Ink Mascara (Blackest), £36 – smudge-proof, with a brilliant skinny brush, offering short bristles to access every lash while bulking them up with fibres, born out of having tried virtually every mascara on the planet and being picky, picky, picky. (This is one of those mascaras that washes off with warm water – but till then is smudge-proof.)

Skin Perfecting Powder, £62 – just the airiest, sheerest powder, delivering an almost airbrushed effect. You are so going to want to bring out this beautiful ridged compact and powder your nose in public.

Smudgy Matte Eyeliner (Graphite), £36 – with a fab, innovative sponge tip for blending into the lash-line. Craving an instant smokey eye? Job done.

As for Ms. Beckham herself? Much warmer and funnier than we'd imagined. Polished – which you'd expect – but actually very, very pretty in real life (with a smile that isn't often seen in paparazzi shots, that's for sure).

As she spoke about the need to look good after a long-haul flight (because she'll be snapped getting off any plane), about Harper playing with her make-up bag (just as Victoria did with her own mother's) and how she so wants to learn about the technical side of make-up production that she's been visiting the factories who manufacture her make-up, we most definitely warmed to Ms. Beckham. And – we've a hunch – so will anyone who snaps up heroes from this collection.

Trust us: this partnership is going to run and run. And we couldn't be more excited.
