Tisserand/National Geographic

Now this is a great #collab between two excellent names. We go all the way back with Tisserand to the days of founder Robert Tisserand, and lately they’ve been ‘on song’, product-wise. As Tisserand point out, ‘Our personal wellbeing has much in common with the planet – it’s precious, it’s powerful and in our fast-paced modern world, it is constantly at risk.’

Inspired by the globetrotting vibe of National Geographic (a magazine so beautiful that we really can’t bear to throw our back issues away), there are three collections to explore, all with ingredients that Tisserand promise are ‘sustainably-sourced’.

Packaging is made from recycled plastic, cardboard is FSC-certified and printing is done with eco-inks. (And this isn’t just bandwagonning, we know, because as we say, we’ve been familiar with Tisserand’s ethos from the very beginning.)

The Retreat collection blends neroli, frankincense and vetiver – a fast-track to calm in a fast-paced world in which we need grounding and tethering to the planet we live on, frankly, much of the time. The Explore line-up is more uplifting, with its breath-of-fresh-air blend peppermint, petitgrain and cardamom.

But the one that’s really blown our minds a bit is the Paradise collection. When we opening this up, we were instantly reminded of a much-loved fragrance from our youth – Goya Aqua Manda. The closest we’ve come to smelling that nostalgic scent; notwithstanding the fact that the fragrance itself was re-released a few years ago; alas, it never quite captured that mandarin freshness.

The green mandarin here is blended with jasmine and grapefruit and is, we’re told, designed to ‘inspire positivity, provide a dose of calm and impart a warm inner glow.’ Well, we’re certainly feeling the love – in particular for the Paradise Travel Kit/£20 (see below), with its mini Bath Oil, pulse-point Roller Ball and Mood Mist, in an excellent brown pouch that anyone will find a second life for once the roller ball has glided its last... (Cables? Make-up? It’s your call.)

We’re positively transported, without even leaving our desks. And that, surely, is the idea.
