Tip of the Day: 09.09.2015

Our aromatherapist friend Geraldine Howard (founder of Aromatherapy Associates) is a big fan of tea tree oil, but advises: 'Although it's commonly used to treat minor skin complaints, it's a very aggressive essential oil and should be diluted in vegetable oil first if you're going to use it on spots or bites. Essential oils dissolve in a base oil very easily - almond and macadamia are the best. If you want to use tea tree for a larger area of the body, such as the feet (for infections), put a couple of drops in water. Although tea tree doesn't dissolve in water, it does disperse.
