@emmaroberts x @kikomilano 3-in-1 Eyes Multitasker 😮‍💨❤️ This is one of the higher priced products that we’ve seen from KIKO Milano, who we rate very highly – but it’s a swanky collab with American actress/singer Emma Roberts, and we definitely rate it as a steal for its sheer versatility. They claim ‘3-in-1’: eye pencil, eyeshadow and eyeliner. Certainly, it multi-tasks as a smooshable, so-easy eyeshadow, or a stronger pencil that can be used for defining. 3-in-1 Eyes Multitasker is self-sharpening, and the finish you get is all down to how hard you press – a little more force for eyelining, a lighter touch for shading. (Can be blended with fingers, or a synthetic eyeshadow brush.) It lasts well – they promise 12 hours and we wouldn’t contradict. Ssssssh... Why we’re loving @sephorauk Quiet Hours 😌 We’ve never been fans of shopping in stores pounding with loud music, where strip lights blazed. And as the years have gone by, that’s grown into active dislike. (Jo literally feels panicky and on sensory overload in department stores, and avoids them wherever possible.) So Sephora’s Quiet Hours Pilot Project is music to our ears – only NOT. It began a couple of weeks ago, and will run till 26th July, in selected stores. If it’s a success, Sephora – the first beauty retailer to pilot this idea worldwide – should be extending the scheme. While we hate harking back to lockdown… that happens to be when we discovered the art of home brow-dyeing, having relied for years on Benefit’s Brow Dates (journo perk) to have our arches tinted and groomed. Home brow-dyeing is so easy that we’ve stuck with it ever since, Jo relying on a pack of Schwarzkopf dye (excellent stuff) which she’s eked out till right now. But it finally tinted its last, which meant a trip to Boots – and the acquisition of this relatively recent entry to the market: @lorealparis Brow Color Semi-Permanent Tint. Beauty Bible hit a purple patch this week with a sneaky peek at the amazing Chance Street pop-up in Shoreditch to celebrate the launch of the wonderfully fresh Chance Eay Splendide (it really is). And how many times have we been disappointed…? All that is behind us, with the debut of O.P.I. RapidDry nail polish, the first truly to deliver on its quick-drying pledge, in our experience. Somewhat cynically, Jo first applied one coat – and it was dry within a few seconds. Cagily, a day later, she applied a second coat – and a glossy top coat soon, after – and again, completely rock solid in a couple of blinks of an eye. 🌟 Fab Find of the Week: @granado Exuberance Hand Cream Trio 🥰 Having a little sniff around Covent Garden – a lovely thing to do, on a sunny afternoon – we visited for the first time the new Granado boutique on (aptly enough) Floral Street. What a treat for the senses. If you don’t know them, Granado is a Brazilian brand which landed in the UK around three years ago, and has really made a colourful, fragrant splash in the world of fragrance and bodycare. There are now a couple of other Granado boutiques – at Ham Yard Hotel, and on Chelsea’s King’s Road – and they all offer the same immersive sensorial experience, alive with colour and scent. The products are good value – but we are especially taken right now with this Granado Exuberance Hand Cream Trio, featuring a really decent 50g (handbag-worthy) size of their luscious yet not greasy hand creams, in three different and exotic scents.
