Soap: a sight for sore eyes...

Today we want you to do one simple thing.  Buy yourself a lovely bar of soap! L'Occitane has long supported the cause of blindness.  (They have printed most of their packaging in Braille for as long as we can remember.)  There are 285 million people in the world who are blind or visually impaired, and yet 80% of those cases are preventable.

So from today - World Sight Day - L'Occitane's giving you a chance to support what they do by - yes - buying yourself a limited edition bar of soap.  100% of the profits from the Rose Tenderness Solidarity Soap (which is priced just £3.50) will go to the charities they support who work with blindness:  ORBIS, Helen Keller International, Vision Aid Overseas, A Better Light Foundation and Light For The World (just Google to read more about any of those NGOs and their fantastic work).  Over €442,637 was donated by L'Occitane during their last financial year, to support these causes (and the company's been recongised by the UN's Development Programme, as an 'exemplary company', for its work).

The fund-raiser in question a lovely soap in itself, packed with L'Occitane's signature skin-softening shea butter, plus rose essential oil (and we know our readers are crazy about the scent of roses).

So it's a real win-win:  you get a nice new bar of soap (and we think it's one of life's purest pleasures, opening one of those!)  And someone, somewhere, may get the gift of sight...
