Can a mask really be 'firming'? Nothing's ever going to rival a facelift - but since we're surgery-averse, we're always looking for alternatives, and this certainly seems to deliver a bit of a 'lift'. (Albeit one that only lasts temporarily.) Still, better than nothing, eh? Add to that brightness, vibrancy and just general 'life', and this has joined the quick-fixes in our arsenal. (It's from a brand voted 'Best New Brand' at the CEW Awards three years in a row, NB.)

First off, Manuka Doctor Rapid Illusionist Rapid Lift Mask is rich and nourishing, packed with manuka honey, shea butter and vitamin E for an infusion of nourishment. It also features chicory root and something called Caesalpinia spinosa gum, for that 'tightening effect' - but don't worry that it's taut; there's absolutely no discomfort. Finally, it features Manuka Doctor's 'signature' bee venom - said to boost collagen formation, and recognised for its repair action on photo-damaged skin.

Just 10 minutes is all it takes - and you can massage any excess into skin, rather than removing it.

Alternative to the scalpel? Nah. But the bottom line is: skin definitely looks perkier after this. Lines are plumped and yes, the face is 'firmer' - making it a great mask choice before an important date of any kind.
