Kate Somerville DeliKate Soothing Cleanser

Fact: we would never usually think of using a foaming cleanser, ourselves, on what are seriously dry skins (dry, anyway, if left to their own devices). BUT… this is a lovely, creamy face wash – from ‘cult’ brand Kate Somerville – which came into its own after a trip to London.

Frankly, living away from the capital and not visiting regularly (‘cos of you-know-what), we had forgotten quite how grubby we feel (and are) upon return home. That seemed to be the perfect moment to put this through its paces – and we were impressed with the way this creamily, lightly foaming formula swooshes away make-up and all that grime and pollution, without leaving hair in the slightest bit tight.

That’s down to the skin-friendly formula, which features ginger root, peptides, ceramides, cucumber oil (it’s calming) and something called Tasmannia Lanceolata fruit extract (honestly it feels like ‘new’ ingredients are bursting onto our radar every day right now; we Googled to find more and this is an Australian shrub also known as ‘mountain pepper’). The result is something so gentle, they suggest it can be used to calm stress when skin’s been affected by sunburn or chemical treatments, never mind daily pollution.

In what has become a somewhat germ-phobic world, there’s been a big uptick in sales of foaming cleansers as people want to feel as clean as poss – and there’s absolutely nothing like a wash to do that for you.

Don’t come skin-kinder than this, we reckon.
