Joan Collins Skin Silk Body Oil

Joan Collins's I Am Woman fragrance has gathered a posse of high-profile perfumista fans, since its launch. To quote Louise Woollam, of the excellent Get Lippie blog (writing in September 2015): 'Early last year I was obsessed (and I do mean completely obsessed) with this perfume to the extent that I carried both the eau de parfum and the fragrant essence around with me, and forced all of my perfume pals to smell it at every available opportunity.' (Several, she adds, bought it as a result...) It's also been a massive hit on QVC. We're totally not surprised, ourselves: this is a world-class scent, a stunning member of the Chypre fragrance family, blending lemon, orange, peach, mandarin and bergamot in its top notes, mellowing to a heart of orange blossom, jasmine, herbs and moss, and finally leaving a sexy 'trail' of patchouli, musk, vanilla, amber, sandalwood and cedarwood.

And this is truly one of the loveliest ways to enjoy it: something to be layered on before a party, we're suggesting. You will feel dressed-up, pampered and entirely party-worthy, if you do – a combination of the fragrance's instantly sophisticating effect (if that isn't a word, it should be), and the blend of skin-silkifying grapeseed, rice bran, olive, rosehip and avocado oils. Great for shins, arms and 'visible' bits if you're wearing a party frock.

This would also make a great stocking filler or gift for a girlfriend. But be sure to treat yourself to a bottle, while you're at it.
