Tinted lip balms are ideal at this time of year – something to have in your pocket to add a slick of colour, along with a smoosh of moisture. 

And we’re loving the sheer, tinted lip balms from this start-up, which we stumbled upon at the Natural & Organic Products Show. They’ve recently launched across the entire network of Holland & Barrett stores – a young start-up, who describe themselves as an ‘indie cosmetics company obsessed with turning fruit waste/by-products into earth-loving, vegan skin stuff.’ (This is great news for the farmers, BTW, who get extra income from the fruit by-products.)

This really lives up to their promise that it ‘feels like a balm, looks like a lipstick.’ There are eight shades, though we’re particularly enjoying Mulberry and Cherry (neither quite as as dark as they sound, on the lips). As summer approaches, we might go Rare Coral or Strawberry Crème, perhaps. All incorporate watermelon and coconut oils for nourishment, along with aloe and banana extracts.

Free from beeswax, they’re vegan, too, if that’s your bag (and the fact they’re PETA-approved certainly ticks our box).
