It may still be pretty FREEZING out there. (Or maybe just raining, by the time you read this.)

But the sun, when it breaks through, is really getting some wellie in its rays – enough, in a sheltered spot, to get a bit of a glow on.

Which means just one thing: time to reach for a facial SPF. It always was, remains (and always will be) our No.1 anti-ageing tip, working on the basis that preventing wrinkles is way easier than treating them.

Here’s one that will never let you down, is a joy to apply – and does its protective job.

Clarins Extra-Firming is a legend in its own lifetime – gently floral-scented, a bestseller in the range, and now additionally powered by an ingredient called ‘kangaroo flower’, native to Australia, which plumps and firms. It’s marvellously moisturising without any tackiness – and while there’s no pale ghostly ‘cast’ (as with some SPFs), delivers a very subtle radiance, rather than a flat, matte finish.

But a PS: do remember to slather down to your round- or v-neck, won’t you, since the décolletage is especially vulnerable? Jo got quite pink on a recent seafront walk, after forgetting to do that
