Beauty Clinic: Office-friendly skin advice
Q. I am 37 years old and conscious my skin is needing more of a helping hand as the years go by. As I spend lots of time at work in an office, I wondered if you had any hints or tips of products I could apply during the day to help the condition of the skin on my hands and face? A. The biggest thing you can do for your skin in an office is to keep it hydrated. Think how the water in a vase of flowers disappears, and how they droop and dry up - that is basically what is happening to your skin.
So – here are some thoughts:
Sip still room temperature water constantly and keep a full bowl of water on your desk.
Moisturise your face and neck a couple of times during the day if your complexion feels dry to the touch or looks it. Use a light product (cream or lotion) that will absorb quickly.
And don't forget your lips: we love Lanolips Lip Ointment with Colour SPF15, in five sheer colours.
Use hand cream every time you wash your hands. In our latest book The Ultimate Natural Beauty Bible, the top scorer in our tried and tested Hand Creams section was a real beauty steal - Tisserand Signature Blend Intensive Hand & Nail Cream.
When you're at home, do apply a mask on face, neck, bosom and hands every week, try Liz Earle's Intensive Nourishing Treatment Mask.
Finally, when you are at home do moisturise the rest of you and don't forget to exfoliate: keeping your body 'scrubbed up' will do wonders for skin condition. One favourite double-duty beauty product is Sanctuary Spa 4 Day Moisture Oil Scrub.
