Beauty Clinic: Frizz protection for damp weather
Q. With the damp weather, my coloured hair – which is a bit dry - tends to get frizzy. Is there anything that will help/prevent this? A. This is such a common problem but happily we have discovered some helpful products! (We've one friend who literally scuttles from doorway to doorway when there's a hint of mizzle in the air...)
Jo Hansford, known as the Queen of Colour, has launched an Anti-Frizz Shampoo and Conditioner as part of her sulphate-free Expert Colour Care range. One of the key factors in keeping hair frizz-free is to keep it well conditioned.
The Anti-Frizz Shampoo contains natural ingredients that surround the hair follicle and work synergistically to infuse the hair with moisture, while also protecting it from humidity and reducing the electro-static charge.
After all that, what we know is that it works! Oh, and the Jo Hansford Intensive Masque is fabulous, too.
In the Styling Products category of our latest book, The Ultimate Natural Beauty Bible, Aveda Smooth Infusion Glossing Straightener, scored well for frizz-smoothing. One tester commented: ‘very easy to use: just run through wet hair, which seemed to then take less time to dry. Great at defrizzing and I didn't have to use straighteners.’ The Smooth Infusion range includes shampoo and conditioner. Find the range at www.aveda.co.uk
Finally, may we suggest you wear a hat in damp weather? It really helps. Sarah is very keen on her new black felt fedora from Brora, at www.brora.co.uk, not to mention the compliments it elicits.
