Beauty Bible Weekend Steal: Max Factor 2000 Calorie newness

We are always on the hunt for high street make-up finds that we can swap out for pricier stuff. So… enter our two latest brilliant discoveries, from good old Max Factor – a brand that is always worth exploring, if you’re having a mooch in Boots or Superdrug.

But if you’re pushed for time, just grab these two, which have so, so impressed us.

First up, Max Factor 2000 Calorie Pro Stylist Mascara/£10.99. This has a great, non-stiff formula which importantly DOES NOT SMUDGE AS THE DAY WEARS ON. We’re converted to this gently curved mascara wand, too, which is so easy to wiggle from root to tip, but can be turned upright to effectively access lower lashes or add some extra va-va-voom to individual top lashes. (BTW, we wouldn’t be without a magnifying mirror – ideally 5 x magnification – for mascara application to ensure a finish that’s as un-spidery as poss.) Perfect for delivering the naturally enhanced look we like, without going all spidery on us – but buildable, too.

Max Factor 2000 Calorie Brow Sculpt/£9.99. ‘Gosh, that’s a bulky brow wand,’ we thought, upon unpacking this. But actually, this short but stubby wand sweeps through brows so effectively, grabbing every last hair and then some. It grooms them into shape, plumping the appearance of what you’re naturally endowed with, truly delivering ‘3D’ enhancement, as promised. (Notably on sparse, pale brows like ours.) In four shades, Max Factor 2000 Calorie Brow Sculpt doesn’t budge, either – both smudgeproof and waterproof.

And the prices…? Won’t raise any eyebrows. (If you get our drift.)
