Soap Co. Mineral Bath Soak

For our first ‘love’ of the decade, we’ve chosen a new product from a range by one of the most heart-warming beauty brands we know. We believe this will be the year when more and more beauty-hounds start to look for products that are better for the planet, delivering meaning and purpose alongside a darned great experience.

This certainly ticks ALL those boxes.

Soap Co., if you don’t yet know them, are a company based in East London that employs people facing mental and physical challenges, including blindness. It has the nicest vibe of any factory we’ve ever visited, and recently moved on from the much-loved soap products we’ve raved about before to offering a well thought-out range of body treats.

All packaging is certified plastic-free – glass and aluminium, in the case of this delicious soak, which also has a ‘matching’ Hand Wash and Hand Cream (in sleek aluminium bottles)/£19 and £22 respectively, for 300ml.

The two fragrances for this Mineral Soak are equally gorgeous and we’re hard-pressed to choose between them: Sandalwood & Bergamot and Neroli & Rosemary. They both feature Epsom salts and Himalayan pink salt, along with Fairtrade dried tea from NEMI Teas (another social enterprise, which offers employment to refugees in the UK), and a touch of skin-softening jojoba oil.

There are also Body Oils (Rose, Renew and Unwind)/£20 for 100ml, and an Exfoliating Coffee Scrub/£25 for 250g, which delivers one heck of a Java jolt to the senses (but is best used in the shower, we find, to avoid ‘Gritty Bottom Syndrome’). They’re seen above with Soap Co.’s soaps, including their felted soap, with its built-in exfoliating action.

Over the coming weeks and months, we think we’ll be sharing many other beauty initiatives from companies acting more responsibly – without compromising on our enjoyment in any way. Feel-good beauty, at its best.

But we couldn’t be happier to kick off 2020 with this.
