Colgate Recyclean Toothbrush

Yet more evidence that the beauty and wellbeing world is – literally – cleaning up its act is this revolutionary Recyclean toothbrush from good old Colgate, created from 100% recycled plastic and 100% plant-based nylon bristles.

The small head makes it easy to reach the nether regions of the mouth – and having recently spent several hours in the dentists’ chair, collectively, the Beauty Bible team is VERY conscious of the importance of that. It’s nicely ergonomic and pleasant to hold.

And beyond that, Colgate – hoorah! – offer a recycling service for ALL their products, with an (albeit quite hard to navigate) map, online, to show you your nearest drop-off location. Toothpaste tubes, cardboard brush packaging (and the plasticky bits that protect the products) can all go back, to be recycled via TerraCycle. Don’t be put off by the fact it says ‘The programme is currently full’ – what that means is that there are LOTS of locations (720 in all), across the country, and our tip to use the map is to expand it and expand it till you can see your locale in detail.

So far (at time of press), they’ve recycled 1,307,671 pieces of waste. Impressive stuff. And if you use a regular toothbrush and it’s not made of recycled materials, our only question is: why not…?

£4 – for now, available via Ocado and Tesco Groceries
